Possibly the first ever Google+ app created

Yesterday night Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten posted on Google+ announcing Social Statistics, which keeps track of the top 100 users of Google+. It’s the first thing we have seen that could be described of a Google plus ‘app’. Boris had stated that he was updating the site manually, however you would think it shouldn’t taken too long to knock together a scraper.

Interestingly enough, at the time of writing Mark Zuckerberg is the most ‘circled’ user on Google+ with 29,543 followers, ahead of Larry Page who has a paltry 19,878 followers.

Edited : It looks like Boris might have added some sort of built in scraper; users can now use a form to add their Google+ and have follower counts collected by the service
